As the crisis of the pandemic started, I realized that there are so many people sacrificing their quality of life and their health to take care of those who are required to stay home or have fallen sick. So many people in the service industry and medical profession are at high risk of contracting the virus while working extra shifts without enough protective gear. I started to create two collages to process all that was going on…I was so touched by all the people working so hard for us. One illustration is for honoring all service professionals working for us so we can stay safe at home: delivery services, police, EMTs, postal services, public transportation, medical staff, grocery staff, cleaning staff, trash services, and scientists working around the clock doing testing and researching a vaccine. Then I created one of just medical staff. When all these people got into their line of work, they didn’t know they were going to be heroes on a daily basis one day. I am so grateful for their commitment, sacrifice, and continued service.
So, I created these notecards (both listed here >>) so we have a way to show our heartfelt appreciation to those that have allowed us to stay safe during the stay home orders. I am hoping these service themed cards help you show your gratitude and show you appreciate the risks they are taking. I have these available as singles (at $4.50 each), and sets of six (at $13 making each card $2.16 a piece.)
I will donate 5% of my sales to Direct Relief. This organization is coordinating with public health authorities, nonprofit organizations and businesses in the U.S. and globally to provide personal protective equipment and essential medical items to health workers responding to COVID-19.
